We would love to meet you! That’s the invitation from police as they ask local residents to come and speak to them at South Devon events this Spring. Local officers will be out and about in communities offering the public an opportunity to ask questions, chat about any concerns they may have and pick up some crime prevention advice. Officers will be available at the following dates and locations to speak face-to-face with residents and understand more about issues affecting people living in the area. On Friday 6 March between 10am-11am officers will be at Totnes Methodist Church in Fore Street Totnes and also on Friday 6 March from 3pm you can meet some of your team at The Watermark, Leonards Road Ivybridge On Sunday 8 March at 3pm you can chat to cops at Stoke Fleming Village Shop & Post Office and on Monday 9 March from 10am you can catch officers at Whitestrand car park in Salcombe. Neighbourhood Inspector Ben Shardlow said: “We know that many local people like to see us at busy hubs in their towns and villages and appreciate face to face contact with us. These engagement events are designed to help us to listen to local need and build a more accurate picture of any issues affecting our communities. “We aim to support and help those who come along and can explain how we work together with partner agencies to keep crime levels low in their area. We look forward to meeting everyone.” Other South Devon diary dates when you can meet the police include: Wednesday 11 March from 2pm-3pm at Warrens Bakery in Glanvilles Road Ivybridge, Sunday 15 March from 2pm in Modbury town centre, Monday 16 March from 11am-12pm at Ashburton Information Centre in Kingsbridge Lane, Newton Abbot, Friday 20 March 10am-11am at Totnes Methodist Church in Fore Street, Totnes, Tuesday 24 March 1pm-3pm at The Medway Centre, Medway Road, Torquay and Wednesday 25 March from 11am to 11.30am at Royal Avenue Gardens, Dartmouth. More events will take place in April, May and beyond. Please note, all events are subject to change depending on operational demands on officers. Some dates may have to be postponed at short notice and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
